Dévoilement de l’équipe canadienne de taekwondo pour les Jeux mondiaux universitaires d’été de la FISU 2025

RICHMOND HILL (Ontario) – U SPORTS, le représentant canadien de la Fédération internationale du sport universitaire (FISU), et Taekwondo Canada ont dévoilé la formation d’Équipe Canada pour les épreuves de taekwondo aux Jeux mondiaux universitaires d’été de la FISU 2025.
The team is headlined by Paris 2024 Olympian Josipa Kafadar who will compete in Kyorugi and Kai-Hsin Chang, a silver medalist at the 2024 World Taekwondo Poomsae Championships.

Team Canada is making its return to the FISU Summer World University Games, after missing the 2023 event. The 2025 edition will be staged in the Rhine-Ruhr metropolitan region of Germany, with Taekwondo taking place July 17-23 in Essen.
Team Canada has won 1 medals (a bronze by Ivett Gonda in 2011) in Taekwondo at the FISU Summer World University Games.
This summer’s team will be led by the following coaches and support staff.
- Team Leader: Allan Wrigley (Sooke, B.C.)
- Coach – Poomsae: Ri Seong Kang (Aurora, Ont.)
- Coaches – Kyorugi: George Koh (Ottawa, Ont.), Daniel Thornton (Abbotsford, B.C.)
All team lists are subject to change prior to the Games start date and all nominations are subject to approval by the U SPORTS International Department.
