JOB TITLE: OPERATIONS...
On behalf of myself, the Board of Directors and the staff at Taekwondo Canada, I would like to take this opportunity to wish everyone a very merry Christmas and happy holidays.
It’s hard to believe sitting here that almost six months have passed since I have been elected president. It has been one of the most difficult challenges I have ever accepted. As you know there have been many changes in 2019 and change is not always easy; some changes are quick, but some changes take time and a change in culture. With change comes some uncertainty, many questions, and change promotes growth and innovation. During the past six months, there has been a lot of discovery on a multitude of things that need to be changed and improved upon. Trust is not something that we as an organization have been able to give to our members for quite some time ... I know it’s not easy, but what I am asking you is to trust that the new Board of Directors is working diligently to make meaningful change for every athlete, coach, official, instructor, practitioner and parent involved in our great sport.
You have my word that the changes will greatly improve all aspects of Taekwondo in Canada.
2020 will prove to be an exceptional year and we are even more excited given that one of our athletes, Skylar Park, has pre-qualified for Tokyo! Congratulations to Skylar and Jae Park!
I wish you and your families the happiest of holidays and to here’s to a successful and exciting 2020!
