Greg Bauer

On December 17, 2023, Taekwondo Canada suspended the membership of Greg Bauer, a taekwondo coach with Five Rings Taekwondo in Waterloo, Ontario. The suspension was deemed necessary after Bauer was charged with assault, sexual assault, and sexual exploitation of a minor female by the Waterloo Regional Police Service on Thursday, December 14, 2023. 

While suspended, Bauer is prohibited from attending or otherwise engaging in any Taekwondo Canada affiliated competition or event, including those run or organized by Taekwondo Ontario or any of its member clubs.

Greg Bauer’s suspension will remain in place pending the outcome of the criminal proceedings, at which time it may be revisited.


SAMUEL DESJARDINS

On April 16, 2026, Taekwondo Quebec imposed a two-year suspension on Samuel Desjardins. At the end of the two years, Desjardins will be required to meet reinstatement conditions in order for the suspension to be listed. In accordance with Section 9.4 of Taekwondo Canada’s Discipline and Complaints Policy, Taekwondo Quebec’s decision will apply automatically to, and must be respected by, Taekwondo Canada, its Members and associated organisations.


IN KYUNG KIM 

In Kyung Kim has been permanently banned from holding office as a Director of Taekwondo Canada or a National Committee, as a Director of Taekwondo Ontario or a Provincial Committee. Mr. Kim is also permanently banned from any office or committee with a member organization (PTSO’s) of Taekwondo Canada.


GEORGE KOH 

On May 15, 2026, Taekwondo Canada suspended the membership of George Koh, owner of Phoenix Taekwondo Academy Inc. in Ottawa, Ontario. The suspension was deemed necessary after Koh was charged on May 14th by the Ottawa Police Service with sexual assault.
 
While suspended, Koh is prohibited from attending, participating or otherwise engaging in any Taekwondo Canada sanctioned training, workshops or competitions or any other activity directly or indirectly related to the National Sport Organization or Provincial/Territorial Sport Organizations.
 
Koh’s suspension will remain in place pending the outcome of the criminal proceedings, at which time it may be revisited.


SHIN WOOK LIM

On May 18, 2018, Taekwondo Canada suspended the membership of Shin Wook Lim, a taekwondo coach in Toronto, Ontario. The suspension was deemed necessary after Lim was charged criminally by the Toronto Police Service for Sexual Assault, Sexual Exploitation, Invitation to Sexual Touching and Sexual Interference. He was subsequently convicted and sentenced to a term in prison. 

Due to the seriousness of his crimes, Taekwondo Canada has imposed a lifetime ban on Shin Wook Lim which prohibits him from attending or otherwise engaging in any Taekwondo Canada sanctioned competition, event, workshop or any other activity related to the National Sport Organization or Provincial/Territorial Sport Organizations.


Danny Tallim

On May 8, 2026, Taekwondo Canada suspended the membership of Danny Tallim, owner of Alpha Martial Arts World in Barrie, Ontario. The suspension was deemed necessary after Tallim was charged by the Barrie Police Service with sexual assault, sexual interference and invitation to sexual touching.
 
While suspended, Tallim is prohibited from attending, participating or otherwise engaging in any Taekwondo Canada sanctioned training, workshops or competitions or any other activity directly or indirectly related to the National Sport Organization or Provincial/Territorial Sport Organizations.
 
Tallim’s suspension will remain in place pending the outcome of the criminal proceedings, at which time it may be revisited.
 

King yeung

In 2017, Taekwondo Canada suspended the membership of King Yeung, a taekwondo coach in Winnipeg, Manitoba. The suspension was deemed necessary after Yeung was charged criminally by the Winnipeg Police Services Sex Crimes Unit for Sexual Assault – Child Abuse, Sexual Exploitation, Sexual Interference, Corrupting Morals and Invitation to Sexual Touching, later receiving a prison term for these crimes. Due to the seriousness of the charges, Yeung has been issued a lifetime ban from Taekwondo Canada. Yeun is prohibited from attending or otherwise engaging in any Taekwondo Canada affiliated competition or event, including those run or organized by the member Provinces and/or Territory or any of its member clubs.
