OTTAWA (April 8, 2020) - The Coaching Association of Canada (CAC) is offering free online Safe Sport Training to help all participants in national sport organizations recognize maltreatment in sport and take informed action to address it.

The CAC’s Safe Sport Training is available through its online learning platform, the Locker. It is offered in English and French, and takes 90 minutes to complete. Importantly, it meets the minimum standards for mandated safe sport training for individuals under the authority of all Sport Canada-funded organizations.

The more people who learn how to identify and address maltreatment, the safer all sport environments will be. Every individual involved in sports must recognize the importance to keep sport safe, to elevate our actions and step-in.

Taekwondo Canada aims to have this required training completed by the following groups; decision makers (senior staff and high-performance directors), those in direct athlete contact (High performance staff, coaches, contractors and officials), and those with no direct athlete contact (office staff, event volunteers, and organizing committee members). Target groups will receive further communication from our staff.

Coaches certified through the National Coaching Certification Program (NCCP) can also earn Professional Development points upon completing the training.
