Taekwondo Canada statement on racism

OTTAWA, ON. – The following is a statement on behalf of Taekwondo Canada from President Phil Power.

“The recent events within the United States have demonstrated the inequality that exists among us, and Taekwondo Canada would like to use its platform to encourage discussion and change.

We know racism exists in the world and people of many different backgrounds experience racism daily.  We recognize that and understand that our organization needs to do more to combat acts of injustice and ensure a safe space for everyone.

Taekwondo Canada and its member provincial sport organizations will continue to listen, have difficult conversations and be open to change if we are going to make progress towards a better future for all participants.

We are determined to make Taekwondo Canada inclusive, welcoming and safe for all members of the organization.”
