CANADIAN TAEKWONDO OLYMPIAN PREPARES FOR TOKYO WITH GOLD MEDAL AT SPANISH OPEN

Posted on

Following a year with limited opportunities to compete, Skylar Park is finding ways to push her limits as she prepares for the upcoming Tokyo Olympic Games.

Competing for the first time internationally in 2021, Skylar took the top of the podium at last weekend’s Spanish Open in the Female -57kg division. Alongside her coach and father, Jae Park, Skylar stepped back into the ring and showed no signs of rust as she beat competitors from Spain, France, Bosnia, and Morocco to capture the Gold medal. Both of Skylar’s brothers, Braven and Tae-Ku, who have been instrumental in her training this last year, also finished on the podium earning silver and bronze respectively.

With the Pan Am Championships coming up in June, this is a great start to her 2021 season as she remains focused on the Tokyo Olympic gold medal.
