The Board of Directors of Taekwondo Canada have met and officially accepted the recommendations of Eric Wah to appoint Barbara Marian as the Interim Referee Chair. This position is being vacated by the resignation of the current Referee Chair, Eric Wah, in order to accept a promotion.
“Taekwondo Canada would like to thank Eric Wah for his service over the past years,” said Wayne Mitchell, the President of Taekwondo Canada. “Eric Wah has played a prominent role in managing the national referee programs and has contributed to the organization tremendously during his period as the Chair of the Taekwondo Canada Referee Committee.”
“Eric Wah demonstrated the utmost professional performance at world class events and tirelessly passed his knowledge on to the young referees in our community. His referee experience and knowledge of the sport have been invaluable to Taekwondo Canada,” said Mitchell. “On behalf of the entire taekwondo family in Canada, I’d like to wish Eric all the best in his future endeavors. We would also like to congratulate Barbara Marian on the appointment and we firmly believe that her dedication and service will help the referee community continuously strive for success.”
Barbara Marian will work closely with the current referee committee and the national referees. Her appointment will be in place until the revised referee committee policy has been approved and the new process set for selection of the National Referee Chair.
