Marian appointed as member of WT Committee

Barbara Marian, the current Interim Referee Chair of Taekwondo Canada, was appointed by the World Taekwondo President, Dr. Chungwon Choue, as member of the Women in Taekwondo Committee on November 24, 2017. The term of office will be two (2) years until the end of the Manchester 2019 World Taekwondo Championships.
The Women in Taekwondo Committee is made up of 7 exceptional females with a range of skills and expertise to support World Taekwondo’s development needs. The committee is chaired by Ms. Maria Rosario Borello Castillo, WT Council member and President of Federacion Nacional Taekwondo de Guatemala.
The Women in Taekwondo Committee will meet at least once every three months and its objectives and responsibilities include the study of best practices, WT branding and visibility enhancement, and oversight of the communication strategy of World Taekwondo.
“I’m honoured, humbled and thrilled,” said Barbara Marian on this appointment, “I am looking forward to sinking my teeth into my first assignment.”
