Montreal to Host Taekwondo Week in Canada in February 2025

Ottawa – Taekwondo Canada is pleased to announce Taekwondo Week in Canada. This event will feature both the Taekwondo Canada National Championships (February 4-6) and 2025 Canada Open (February 7-9).
These events which are proudly supported by Tourism Montreal, will be held in the same week for the first time in Taekwondo Canada’s history and will be held at the Palais des Congres in downtown Montreal. This event will feature the top taekwondo athletes at the Cadet, Junior and Senior levels as well as Poomsae in the country.
“Our National Championships is the premiere national taekwondo event in Canada in 2025 and all athletes will be competing for spots on Canada’s National Team, allowing these skilled athletes to compete against the best in international events throughout the world.” Said Dave Harris, Executive Director. “We are proud to welcome Canada’s top athletes to Montreal in February for what will be a tremendous Taekwondo Week in Canada.”
Also, as part of Taekwondo Week in Canada, Taekwondo Canada is proud to welcome the world to Montreal for the 2025 Canada Open International Taekwondo tournament.
This event, sanctioned by World Taekwondo as a G2, is Canada’s only international taekwondo event, being held February 7-9 at the Palais des Congres. This tournament will feature the top taekwondo athletes from Canada squaring off against the best in the world in top-class competition.
The Canada Open features the top athletes in Canada, competing against teams from North America, South America, Europe, Africa, Asia and Australia in the first major event of the season. This event will also set the standard for events in the Pan American region.
As well, it has been announced by the Pan American Taekwondo Union (PATU) that winners in the Cadet and Junior divisions will be offered Wild Card spots in upcoming events in 2025.
