Dear Board and Taekwondo Community:
Re: Re-affirmation of Taekwondo Canada National Poomsae Head Coach – Master Seoung Min Rim
Master Rim has been a long time contributor as National Coach to the Taekwondo Canada Poomsae program. His exemplary leadership has resulted in numerous medals as well as Gold medals for Canada at the World Championships.
There is an important need to structure the Poomsae HP Poomsae Program and Poomsae Committee in a manner that has a united and focused approach to ensure future success. Taekwondo Canada feels that Master Rim is still the person to lead us through that process.
In re-affirming the official National Poomsae Head Coach position for Master Rim for the current 2020 Olympic cycle will provide a continuity and a smooth transition for our new Executive Director, Carla Anderson, as we prepare for the upcoming 2018 World Taekwondo Poomsae Championships in November as well as the 2019 Pan Am Games in Peru.
WT has recently announced new rules, new format, and new Poomsae moving forward for the World Championships beginning 2020. Master Rim has a wealth of knowledge in Freestyle Competition as well as the new Poomsae and new competition format that will benefit all Canadian athletes, spending weeks at a time in Korea for his own Professional Development.
Sincerely
Wayne Mitchell
