Selection of World Taekwondo Olympic Weight Category

With the announcement of the ranking rules going into effect June 1, 2024, World Taekwondo has opened the Olympic Weight selection window.
Senior athletes wishing to change their WT Olympic weight category OR athletes who are Senior age eligible in 2024 and/or 2025 (turning 17 in 2024 or 2025), must declare an Olympic weight be emailing gms@taekwondo-canada.com with the following information:

- Full Name
- Global Athlete License (GAL) Number
- Declared Olympic Weight Class
Athletes expected to compete in the WT Junior Championships later this year are encouraged to declare an Olympic weight during this time. Medalists who are 17 at the end of the year have the points awarded to their selected Olympic weight category.
Please note: If an athlete already has an Olympic Weight Category selected and no change is required you do not have to provide the selection again as previously selected Olympic Weight Categories are retained until a change is declared.
