CARLOS BAPTISTA
On May 14, 2025, Taekwondo Canada suspended the membership of Carlos Baptista, a taekwondo coach with Extreme Martial Arts in London, Ontario. The suspension was deemed necessary after Baptista was charged with sexual assault, sexual exploitation, sexual interference and invitation to sexual touching in relation to a minor female by the London Police Services.
While suspended, Baptista is prohibited from attending or otherwise engaging in any Taekwondo Canada affiliated competition or event, including those run or organized by any of its member associations.
Carlos Baptista’s suspension will remain in place pending the outcome of the criminal proceedings, at which time it may be revisited.
Greg Bauer
On December 17, 2023, Taekwondo Canada suspended the membership of Greg Bauer, a taekwondo coach with Five Rings Taekwondo in Waterloo, Ontario. The suspension was deemed necessary after Bauer was charged with assault, sexual assault, and sexual exploitation of a minor female by the Waterloo Regional Police Service on Thursday, December 14, 2023. IN KYUNG KIM
In Kyung Kim has been permanently banned from holding office as a Director of Taekwondo Canada or a National Committee, as a Director of Taekwondo Ontario or a Provincial Committee. Mr. Kim is also permanently banned from any office or committee with a member organization (PTSO’s) of Taekwondo Canada.
SHIN WOOK LIM
On May 18, 2018, Taekwondo Canada suspended the membership of Shin Wook Lim, a taekwondo coach in Toronto, Ontario. The suspension was deemed necessary after Lim was charged criminally by the Toronto Police Service for Sexual Assault, Sexual Exploitation, Invitation to Sexual Touching and Sexual Interference, later receiving a prison term for these crimes. Due to the seriousness of the charges, Coach Shin Wook Lim has been issued a lifetime ban from Taekwondo Canada. Lim is prohibited from attending or otherwise engaging in any Taekwondo Canada affiliated competition or event, including those run or organized by the member Provinces and/or Territory or any of its member clubs.
King yuen
In 2017, Taekwondo Canada suspended the membership of King Yeun, a taekwondo coach in Winnipeg, Manitoba. The suspension was deemed necessary after Yeun was charged criminally by the Winnipeg Police Services Sex Crimes Unit for Sexual Assault – Child Abuse, Sexual Exploitation, Sexual Interference, Corrupting Morals and Invitation to Sexual Touching, later receiving a prison term for these crimes. Due to the seriousness of the charges, Yeun has been issued a lifetime ban from Taekwondo Canada. Yeun is prohibited from attending or otherwise engaging in any Taekwondo Canada affiliated competition or event, including those run or organized by the member Provinces and/or Territory or any of its member clubs.
