Taekwondo Canada’s High Performance Director Dr. Allan Wrigley said of the performance at this year’s World Championships, “The Baku World Championships were especially challenging for our Senior team. When competing against the best in the world at this level, the margins between winning and losing are razor thin. While we were on the losing end of many close matches, we need to maintain our focus on how to get better based on this experience. With Olympic qualification still front and centre for this year, our coaches and athletes will need to apply what they have learned here to get ready for the Grand Prix circuit which kicks off this week.”
