Taekwondo Canada Finalizes Decision on the Selection Protocols for 2019 World Taekwondo Championships and 2019 Pan American Games Qualification Tournaments
Taekwondo Canada can confirm that the original 2019 Senior World Championship and 2019 Pan American Games qualification and selection protocols stand – which are outlined here.
This is following an appeal heard by the Sport Dispute Resolution Centre of Canada (SDRCC) and a thorough review conducted by an Ad Hoc committee, made up of individuals from Taekwondo Canada’s Kyorugi Coaches Committee, and two coaches representing the taekwondo community, formed to assess the selection protocols.
Taekwondo Canada took the appeal and review seriously and is now committed to a timely finalization of the details on the selection events for the 2019 Pan Am Games Qualification Team, as well as the 2019 Senior World Championships and the 2019 Summer Universiade teams given original event timelines elapsed during the course of the appeal and review process. Details on these will be communicated soon.
The 2019 Pan Am Games Qualification tournament is tentatively scheduled in early March 2019, subject to changes by Pan Am Taekwondo Union.
