Taekwondo Canada Mourns the Loss of Anne Marie D’Amico

Taekwondo Canada would like to express our deepest condolences to Master Rocco D’Amico and Mrs. Carmela D’Amico, who lost their beloved daughter Anne Marie D’Amico in Monday afternoon’s van attack in Toronto.

Anne Marie D’Amico was a student at Young Choung Taekwondo and is remembered as someone who had “the biggest heart” and “always put other people’s needs ahead of her own”, says Tennis Canada through their press release.  Ms. D’Amico was a long-term volunteer with Tennis Canada.  Master Rocco D’Amico served as the President of Taekwondo Ontario in the early 1990s and his daughter Anne Marie was like family to many in the taekwondo community in Toronto.

“We are deeply shocked and saddened by this terrible tragedy,” said Wayne Mitchell, Taekwondo Canada’s President. “Our prayers are with her family and extended family at Young Choung Taekwondo during this time.”

A GoFundMe page has been set up for the victims and their families.
