Ottawa, ON – Taekwondo Canada is proud to announce that World Taekwondo, the international governing body for the sport of taekwondo, has announced that the organization has risen to number eleven amongst Member National Associations (MNA’s) in the world.
This ranking, which places Taekwondo Canada amongst the best run taekwondo organizations in the world, was made based on a comprehensive evaluation of the 215 Member National Associations based on the criteria outlined in the World Taekwondo MNA Ranking Bylaws.
The MNA Ranking is a yearly assessment designed to objectively measure the performance of each MNA based on five key criteria: Governance, Participation, Performance, Events and Sustainability. These criteria reflect the MNA’s organizational and competitive strength and adherence to WT’s standards and values. The Governance score, derived from the biennial MNA survey provides insights into the internal operations of the MNAs, including transparency, integrity, democracy and development efforts.
In receiving the news from World Taekwondo, Dave Harris, Executive Director of Taekwondo Canada, added: “The Board of Directors and staff of Taekwondo Canada are extremely proud to achieve this prestigious honour from World Taekwondo for 2026. Taekwondo Canada has received this honour through extremely hard work and a focus on becoming best in class amongst world Member National Associations. This ranking, which places us amongst the top taekwondo countries in the world, is proof of our hard work in all five criteria which we were evaluated on.”
