Taekwondo Canada Names National for 2023 Cadet and Junior Pan American Championships

Ottawa, ON (April 20, 2023) – Taekwondo Canada is pleased to announce the National Teams for the upcoming Cadet and Junior Pan Am Championships being held in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic from April 24th to 26th. The team was selected based on results from Taekwondo Canada’s National Championships held in January.
The Cadet and Junior National Kyorugi Teams consist of 13 and 20 athletes respectively with the National Poomsae Team having 20 athletes. Joining the National Team are four additional junior kyorugi athletes that earned Wildcard entries from winning various Pan American Taekwondo Union (PATU) events through the 2022-2023 year. The team includes representation from five provinces. Sixteen coaches will also attend the event on behalf of Team Canada. The full team is listed below:

Taekwondo Canada’s High Performance Director Dr. Allan Wrigley shared his thoughts on the upcoming event, “The Cadet and Junior Pan American Championships continue to be a great development opportunity for both our athletes and coaches. Our focus is on providing these individuals with the appropriate competition environments while still being challenged to perform at their best.”
The team will be supported by Team Leader Dr. Allan Wrigley, Team Manager Brittany Rich, along with Team Physician Dr. Fiona Hanlon-Dearman and Athletic Therapists Rick Lau and Tina Szeto.
