Volunteer Coaching Opportunity for 2019 Universiade Games

Taekwondo Canada is currently looking for one Kyorugi (sparring) coach to lead six sparring athletes (three female and three male) for the 2019 Universiade Games in Napoli (ITA). After a review of Taekwondo Canada’s high-performance priorities, it has been decided this will be an entirely self-funded, volunteer opportunity.
Key dates for the 2019 Universiade Games includes the following:
- July 3: Opening Ceremony
- July 8: Technical Meeting – Sparring
- July 9-13: Sparring Competition
- July 14: Closing Ceremony
- Technical package
Selection:
- Interested coaches seeking additional international experience are asked to please submit your application to high_performance@taekwondo-canada.com by Friday, May 3. The following criteria must be met:
- minimum dojang coach certified
- must be affiliated with Taekwondo Canada
The cost of the trip is projected to be the following:
- Flight: $1500-$1800
- U SPORTS Participation: $2850 – inclusive of accommodations, meals, ground transportation, medical and mission staff support, Team Canada kit, FISU Entry/ registration fee, Operations / admin, on-site logistics and team activities
- Deposit: a $200 non-refundable deposit (as per U Sports regulations) per person is required included in the $2850
- Medical/ Travel insurance: you are required to purchase individual insurance, a copy is required for U sports
- Team Apparel: TBD
