I can’t wait to be compete alongside some of Canada’s greatest up and coming athletes.”

McClymont secured his spot in the men’s +73kg division at the Youth Olympic Games with a third-place finish at a qualifying event in Hammamet, Tunisia this spring. McClymont won his first two matches before losing to the eventual gold medallist of the event from Egypt in the semifinals.

“For as long as I can remember, representing Canada at the Olympics has been my dream,” added McClymont. “Competing at the Youth Olympic Games is one step closer to achieving this dream, while also experiencing new cultures, and meeting and learning from other like-minded athletes and coaches from around the world. I am going there to win and hope to make my country, my team and family proud.”
