Performance Nutrition Series – Session 2: Tournament Performance Nutrition

Join Taekwondo Canada for a free three-part webinar series designed for participants involved in the competitive Poomsae and Kyorugi pathways, including athletes, coaches, parents, and support personnel. This series will help participants better understand the role of nutrition in supporting health, training, recovery, and competition performance.
Led by Kelly Drager, Lead Performance Dietitian at the Canadian Sport Institute Alberta, these sessions will provide practical, evidence-based strategies to help athletes fuel effectively, optimize performance, and support long-term development in Taekwondo. With more than 20 years of experience in high-performance sport and extensive expertise working with combat sport athletes, Kelly brings a wealth of knowledge from supporting Canadian athletes at the national and international levels.

Establishes the foundation – how nutrition impacts health and performance, daily training environment and fueling planning, hydration habits - Tournament Performance Nutrition (June 30, 2026)
Applies nutrition under real competition conditions (fuel effectively during tournaments, maintain energy between matches, reduce GI distress and fatigue) - Making Weight & Reload Strategies (Kyorugi-specific) (Date TBD)
Addresses Taekwondo (combat) sport realities – (long-term goals vs acute weight loss, making weight planning and reload strategies)

All sessions will be delivered in English with French interpretation available.
Coaches can receive 1 NCCP PD Point per session they attend.
